Proverbs 3:5-6 says "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight." Growing up, I was very good at leaning on my own understanding. I was not raised in a Christian home, but at the age of 33, I gave my life to Jesus and soon began the process of learning to lean on Him instead of my own understanding. And it is truly a life-long process! I thank God every day for my hard-working and dedicated husband, Noson, and my two sons, Andrew and Peter, and all they have taught me.
As a former Homeschool Mom, God brought us to ACS in Fall 2017, and it immediately felt like home. My sons both graduated from ACS. One is now in college and one is a US Marine. When they came to ACS, the staff and students were so great at making them feel welcome and meeting them where they were, even though they both had special needs. The skills, friendships, and experiences they had here were a true blessing to them.
I love teaching, everything and anything! There is nothing better than when you can see the light bulb go off for someone, whether it is a Biblical truth or a science principle. Though I graduated as a Chemical Engineer, and worked as one for many years, teaching is what I truly love.
I got into Robotics when my oldest son was 7 and wanted to take a homeschool course in LEGO Robotics. That led to me helping his class, and eventually leading it and teaching kids from ages 5 and up how to build and program robots to accomplish tasks. I am so thankful to ACS for their support and growth of the Robotics program into what it is today.
Drama has always been my real love, and I have been involved in Community Theater since age 9. I believe there are no small parts, and love teaching students all the different tools they can use to help tell a story, and find something in themselves they did not know they had.
I especially love when a student who does not fit in in other areas finds their place to shine in either Robotics or Drama, and am very grateful that I get to be a part of that.
