First Grade Teacher at Angleton Christian School

I grew up in Brazoria and graduated in 1992 from West Columbia High School.  I attended Brazosport College for a year and then transferred to Sam Houston State University (Eat ‘em up KATS!).  It was while at Sam Houston, that I decided I wanted to become a teacher. I graduated from SHSU in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a Minor in English and a Specialization in Special Education.

My first teaching job was in Huntsville ISD at Scott Johnson Elementary.  I then married my college sweetheart and moved to Sugar Land where I taught in Fort Bend ISD at Highlands Elementary for 4 years.  I chose to stay at home and be with my three children until I went back to work part-time teaching Preschool at Northway Baptist Church in 2015.

I have been married to my husband Michael for 27 years, and we have three children.  Our son, James, is 23 and recently graduated from Texas A&M in College Station and our twin daughters, Elizabeth and Olivia, are 19.  Elizabeth attends Texas A&M College Station and Olivia attends TAMU Corpus Christi.

I love spending time with my family camping in our RV, going to the beach and traveling to new places.   One of our favorite places to visit is Walt Disney World in Florida.

My husband and I have been involved in several of our children’s activities, one being the Angleton Warriors 4H Club.  I am a member of First Baptist Church in Brazoria and have served in numerous children’s ministries including - Sunday School, AWANAS, Vacation Bible School and Music Camp.

My Ministry

I am so excited to be starting my 7th year teaching 1st grade at ACS.  My children are all graduates of ACS and I am happy to be part of a school that always puts Christ First!

I believe that God called me to teach at ACS and I’m ready to follow where He leads.  For me, there is nothing better than sharing my love of learning and my love of the Lord.

One of my favorite scriptures is Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
