Natalie Briers

I was raised in Angleton, and graduated from Angleton High school in 2001. I went on to the University of Houston Clear Lake where I earned my Master's of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. I absolutely loved going to school and learning, so what better job could I possibly have than being a teacher! I get to go to school every day! God provided me with a wonderful opportunity to teach at ACS, and this year will be my fifth year here. I teach 4th and 5th grade science, and I also coach high school volleyball....GO WARRIORS!

I have a super awesome family, and my husband and I just celebrated our 12th year anniversary this summer. We have two fantastic children, and a precious puppy, who I cannot brag about enough. Both of our children attend ACS and our oldest son, Nicolas, will be in 11th grade this year; and our youngest, Aydin, will be in 6th grade. ACS has been a true blessing to our family, and in a world where there can be so many distractions, we are thankful that they are not only encouraged at home, but in their educational environment as well, that God is the center of everything. As a family, we love to travel, flying out to different countries, taking small road trips, and even camping. We are always on the go!

I am very excited to see what adventures God will provide us this school year, and look forward to teaching all of your precious 4th and 5th grade students!

Welcome to third grade.  I will be teaching all third graders Language Arts ( Reading, Writing, Spelling, and Grammar) and Social Studies.

I will also teach Bible to my own homeroom students.

All of the subjects that I am teaching, I absolutely love!  They are my strength and my favorites.

My Teaching Philosophy

I believe that all children can learn. How quickly they learn depends upon the ability of the child and the effectiveness of the teacher. It is the teacher's responsibility to be well versed in the subject they are teaching. The teacher guides the student through experiences that enable the student to think, to reach their own conclusions, and to apply what they have learned. The goal of the teacher is to help students develop skills to become fully functional citizens.

My Educational Background

I am a Texas certified teacher in grades 1-8. I graduated from the University of Texas at Odessa in Dec. 1975 with a Bachelor's Degree in English and Education.
I have taught for more than 42 years in grades 3-8 both in private and public schools.  Most of my free time is spent making digital scrapbooks, looking for things to use in my class on Pinterest, and I enjoy using technology. I often put computers to use in my classroom and in our school as the school's webmaster.

My Personal Background

I grew up in a small town in the Rio Grande Valley, Rio Hondo, Texas.  I gave my heart, life, and soul to the Lord Jesus Christ when I was seven years old after hearing a loving Sunday School teacher tell about how Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sin.  I will never forget the day I went down to the front of the little church and gave my all to Jesus.

I was called to be a teacher and that is my God-given purpose in life.  I taught children's Sunday School and Vacation Bible School at my church, First Baptist, in Sweeny. I also love to sing. God has guided my life in so many ways to prepare me to teach and share His love with my students at Angleton Christian School.  How I came to teach at ACS is a miraculous story of ministry and divine providence.

I have been married for 41 years to my sweet Christian husband, Jerry Hamlin.  We have two grown children.  Candice Hamlin Rayburn and her husband, Jeff Rayburn, who have two children Campbell ( 8 yrs.)and Cade ( 6 years).  Jerry and I go and see them in Frisco every month.  It is a long 6-hour drive on a weekend, but nothing could keep us away as we watch our grandchildren grow.  Our son, Jonathan, fought in the Iraqi Freedom

War and is now out of the army and resides in Washington state.

I am so blessed to be teaching at Angleton Christian School. I retired from Angleton ISD after many years where I taught it all in 4th and 5th Math, Social Studies, and Science. I even taught advanced Math in 6th grade. I love being able to talk openly about my relationship with Jesus Christ.
I began my walk of faith when I was eight. I am a member of FBC Lake Jackson. I sing in the choir and am a member of the praise team.
I have two sisters (Tracy and Dedee) who are both in education. I have a nephew (Kyle), and a niece (Jamie). Baby Jack and soon Taylor Joy round out my family.
I love to travel. I just spent three weeks in Ireland. There were several places I just wanted to break into “How Great is Our God”!
I am ready to share your child this year. Looking forward to a great year.
